The Hillcrest Christian Cougars (1-9, 1-3) jumped up 6-0 on Brookhaven Academy (5-4, 2-1) Friday night in south Jackson. That lead wouldn’t hold though as a three-touchdown night from senior running back Nick Ogden paced BA to a 41-14 win.

Ogden scored from the 2-yard line midways through the second quarter to give BA a 21-6 halftime lead. The Cougars had gone up 7-6 on a 35-yard TD run by sophomore John Rivers Brown in the first quarter.

The lead grew to 14-6 when senior Gunar Brister scored on an 18-yard run with 11:30 left in the first half.

Ogden had a 38-yard scoring run and a 70-yard touchdown dash in the second half to put the game away. Junior Luke Johnston also scored a rushing touchdown from five yards out for the Cougars.

Ogden had six tackles for the BA defense, as did linebacker Trenton Tarver. Trevor Fortenberry made four stops and also grabbed an interception.

Brookhaven Academy and coach Ron Rushing close out their regular season next week with a trip to Monroe, Louisiana to play the River Oaks Mustangs.
