Homeowner shot on Nola Road, suspects sought

Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies are asking the public’s help to identify two men involved in a shooting on Nola Road Wednesday night.
Sheriff Steve Rushing said the homeowner confronted two men outside his home near the Lawrence County line about 8:20 p.m. after discovering a burglary of his property.
One of the men shot at the homeowner, striking him in the shoulder and hand, Rushing said.
The victim was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center and has been released.
The suspects fled the scene in a truck, which was recovered later in Lawrence County, he said.
Sheriff’s investigators are working with Lawrence County authorities and Mississippi Highway Patrol to identify the suspects.
