Henry Kern Wickware died in his Moaks Creek home on Thursday morning, June 27, 2019.

A visitation for Kern will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb with visitation continuing on Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 1 p.m. until services at 2:30 p.m. at Moaks Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Brian Metz and Rev. Randy Coker will be officiating, and burial will follow at Moaks Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.

Kern Wickware was born Nov. 20, 1952, in Port Arthur, Texas. to the late Robert and Barbara Perkins Wickware.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kent Wickware of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his in-laws, Lamar and Wilda Moak of Moaks Creek, Mississippi; and one grandmother-in-law, Myrtis Wells of Moaks Creek, Mississippi.

Kern is survived by his wife, Susan Wickware; his children, Robert Lamar and his wife Sarah, Kimberly Metz and her husband Brian, and Celeste Wickware; his grandchildren, Ian, Kiley, Heather, Aubri, Taylor, Lucy and Jedi; and his great-grandson, Jacob.

Kern loved adventure, his family, his dogs, and most of all, his Jesus. He was a pastor with a master’s degree in theology from Breckbill Bible College as well as a board member for Breckbill Bible College. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Pallbearers for Kern will be Paul Smith, David Smith, Toby Wells, Ian Wickware, Taylor Adams, Robert Wickware, Joey Wells and Loyd Wells.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Gideons or to the IBAC Pastor Training Guatemala. Checks can be made out to Summit Crossing Community Church ATTN: Bailey Vinson with “IBAC Pastor Training Guatemala” in the memo at 7200 Governors West NW, Huntsville, AL 35806.
