Seminary deals Wesson a game one loss, 6-2

The Seminary Lady Bulldogs (10-14) gave up two runs early, but none late in beating the Wesson Lady Cobras 6-2 in their 3A playoff opener Monday night in Covington County. The Lady Cobras (19-4) went up 2-0 after the top of the first, but Seminary took control with three runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth innings. Shelbi Maxwell led the Wesson offense with three hits. Anna Claire Crow, Melody Ashley, Natalie Bonds, Katie Mcsweyn and Catherine Wilson all hit safely for coach Michelle Nunnery. Crow tripled for Wesson. Starting pitcher Laynee Crapps struck out three and gave up six hits.
