Thousands of Magnolia Electric Power customers lost service Monday afternoon when a tree cut by loggers fell onto a transmission line, according to the company.
The outage impacted customers from Hwy. 84 south to Pike County.
MEP said in a Facebook post that the transmission lines affected were Entergy’s so its linemen could not work on them. Entergy expected the outage to be restored around 6 p.m.
A total of 4,397 customers were without power, according to MEP.
