Bobby Earl “Pete” Pennington, 88, a resident of Jayess, Mississippi, passed away on March 8, 2019 at the Courtyard Rehabilitation Center in McComb.

Visitation will be Monday, March 11, 2019, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Pricedale, Mississippi. Visitation will resume again on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. at the church. Rev. Mike Burns will officiate and burial will be in McEwen Cemetery in Pricedale, Mississippi.

Pete was born on Aug. 4, 1930, in Brookhaven, Mississippi. He is the son of the late Robert and Marie Williams Pennington. He was a retired truck driver a member of Calvary Baptist Church and he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He enjoyed gardening, repairing small lawn mower engines and working on his antique car. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Deborah Dougherty; five stepbrothers; and two stepsisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 happy years, Dorothy Dean Pennington; one daughter, Rhonda Faye Pennington Viola and her husband John Lawrence Viola of Zachary, Louisisna, five grandchildren, Michelle Erhardt, Brandy Gallaway, Denny Gallaway, Christie Heptinstall and Tami Hollis; eight great-grandchildren, Shane Houston, Holden Heptinstall, Cason Heptinstall, Layton Heptinstall, Caley Loewenstein, Nattaly Young, Colby Young and Angelina Young; extended Wells family, Mike and Mary, Sarah, Michael Jr., Cortney, Samuel and Hannah. He was “Paw-Paw” to all them and with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Denny Gallaway, Michael Wells Jr., Samuel Wells, J.P. Boyd, Jimmy Brister and Jerry McEwen.
