JACKSON (AP) — Police in Mississippi say an officer has crashed their patrol car into a pole.

Jackson police tell news outlets that the officer is recovering from minor injuries after the crash early Tuesday.

Sgt. Roderick Holmes says the officer’s car was the only vehicle involved in the collision. The front of the police cruiser was damaged in the crash.

An ambulance took the officer to a hospital. The cause of the crash is being investigated.

The wreck happened near an intersection in Jackson where a bank, a strip mall and other businesses are located.
