Funeral services for Mrs. Doris C. Lea, of Brookhaven, were Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at Brookhaven Funeral Home in at 11 a.m. with burial following in the Riverwood Family Cemetery. Bro. Bendon Ginn and Bro. Phil Turner officiated the services.
Visitation was Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Coker Wright, Randy Coker, Jeff Wilson, Kenny Goza, Brent Hinton and Joey Norton.
Mrs. Lea, 87, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born Aug. 18, 1931, in Brookhaven, to William Clyde Coker Sr. and Inez Louise Furr Coker. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Preceding her in death were her parents; stepmother, Bessie Callender Coker; brother, William Clyde “Sonny” Coker; and sisters, Barbara Kay Coker, Ann Coker Harris and Margie Coker Lea.
Survivors are her husband of 66 years, Roland Lea; sons, Reggie Lea and wife Rita of Hazlehurst, and Todd Lea and wife Dana of Brookhaven; daughters, Melinda Lea Calvert and husband Brian of Vicksburg, and Dwana Lea Wright and husband Ricky of Brookhaven; grandchildren, Rosanna Lea, Laura Beth Wright, Coker Wright, Austin Lea, Addison Lea, Madisyn Altman and Phillip Crockett; sisters, Iris Rudman Smith and husband Alan (Cotton) and Carolyn Coker Wilson and husband Wayne, both of Brookhaven; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Hospice Compassus, Ability Works and the caregivers who provided compassion and care for her during her last six years.
