Lady Wolves roll by Southern Arkansas University Tech

Behind strong performances from starters Sha’Quandra Carter, TaMara Riley, Darien Tubby, and Azaria Magee off the bench, the Lady Wolves cruised by Southern Arkansas University Tech Lady Rockets, 103-77, on Thursday.
The win moves the Lady Wolves to 7-0 on the year and drops the Lady Rockets to 4-2. The loss for SAU Tech is the Lady Rockets only home loss this season. Co-Lin has a lot of momentum heading into their matchup, an MACJC contest with Pearl River Community College. The game will take place in Poplarville in Marvin R. White Coliseum on the campus of PRCC. Tip-off is set for 5:30 and fans can listen to the action live at colinathletics.com or on WMJU 104.3 FM in Brookhaven.
Co-Lin controlled the game from the start, as the Lady Wolves never trailed the entire contest. Back-to-back layups from Riley and Carter stretched the Co-Lin lead to five, 8-3, early in the first quarter and continued to grow for the remainder of the game.
Late in the first, the Lady Rockets went on a 4-0 run cutting the lead to four, 17-13, but the Lady Wolves responded with a midrange jumper from Alexandria Patton and a big three from Ciara Norwood. The baskets once again gave Co-Lin a commanding lead before Co-Lin completely pulled away.
The Lady Wolves absolutely dominated the boards in this game as they brought down 56 rebounds including 26 offensive rebounds. Co-Lin held the Lady Rockets for just 26 total rebounds on the game. Camryn Davis led Co-Lin on the glass with nine rebounds while Riley hauled in eight.
Co-Lin spread the ball around as well. The Lady Wolves posted 26 assists, the most as a team this season. Norwood led the way in assists with seven.
Riley led Co-Lin in scoring with 20 points, while Carter added 19. Magee, who came off the bench and netted 17, shot 6-of-6 from the floor and 3-of-3 from three-point range to help in the win.
Devena Smith led the Lady Rockets with 28 points as she was 11-of-17 from the field. Alex Parris and Haggar Caldwell each added 11 points.
Co-Lin shot 51 percent (42-of-82) from the floor, 48 percent (11-of-23) from three-point range, and 57 percent (8-of-14) from the free throw line. The Lady Rockets shot 51 percent (31-of-61) from the floor, 17 percent (2-of-12) from downtown, and 54 percent (13-of-24) from the stripe.
