Funeral services for Edgar Smith, of Brookhaven, are Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) with burial at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery in McCall Creek. Bro. Alvin Lyons will officiate the services.

Visitation will be today, Aug. 31, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and continuing Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 84, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was born April 27, 1934, in Lucien, to Ernest and Winnie Lofton Smith. He enjoyed sitting on the bench at Walmart while watching people and gardening or any yard work. He was a loving uncle, brother and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Annie Pearl Smith; special friend, Ernestine Conn; nephews, Ernie Smith and Cory Smith; and brother-in-law, Clayton Smith.

Survivors are his brother, Carrol Smith and wife, Mary Frances; sister, Gladys Smith; and a host of family and friends.
