TERRY, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi man has been taken into custody after investigators say both of his parents were stabbed and his mother died.

Major Pete Luke with the Hinds County Sheriff’s Department said on Monday the crime scene is “horrific.”

Luke says the stabbings happened during an argument in the family’s home in the Jackson suburb of Terry.

The names of the victims were not immediately released.

Authorities did not immediately say what charges the 24-year-old son might face.
