PICAYUNE (AP) — Police say a fight on a street corner has ended with a Mississippi teenager’s death and two people being charged.
News outlets report 19-year-old Sarai Bagley died Tuesday from a single gunshot wound to the chest.
A Picayune police investigation indicates that Bagley flagged down an SUV. Police Assistant Chief Jeremy Magri says 18-year-old Marlos Jones exited the SUV and got into an argument with Bagley. The driver, 24-year-old Kalista Turner, also exited the vehicle.
Magri says when Turner and Jones got back into the vehicle Bagley went up to the passenger’s window and began hitting Jones. Magri says Jones picked up a handgun and shot Bagley.
Jones was arrested on a second-degree murder charge, while Turner was arrested for possession of marijuana. It’s unclear if they have lawyers.
