It’s cold and it’s rainy, but don’t expect ice on the gtound in and around Brookhaven tonight.
Meteorologist Tony Hurt with the National Weather Service in Jackson said Lincoln County can expect a low tonight in the upper 30s, which will warm the ground enough that the cold rain and sleet won’t freeze.
Thursday will see a high in the mid-40s, with a 50 to 60 percent chance of rain continuing throughout the day and overnight into Friday. He said the rain should move out by Friday afternoon.
“It won’t be heavy, but there nonetheless,” Hurt said.
