Funeral services for Dannie W. Smith, of Brookhaven, were held Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven with burial at Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation was held Sunday Nov. 26, 2017, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith, 65, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017. He was employed with Shell Oil Company as a production curriculum advisor and served his country in the United States Army Reserve. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but loved his family above all things. He will be missed by all who loved him. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Pentecostal Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Willard and Margie Smith; and his birth mother, Janie Havis Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Gail Hudson Smith; son, Logan Payne Smith and wife, Alicia; daughter, Jessica S. Griffin and husband, Lance; brothers, Randall Lofton and wife, Patricia, and Stan J. Smith; sisters, Susan L. Keys and husband, Mike, and Helen L. Ratcliff and husband, Johnny; five grandchildren, Sidney Griffin, Judson Griffin, James Aiden Griffin, John Avery Griffin and Jack Hagan Smith; brothers-in-law, Terry Hudson and wife, Judy, Marcelle Hudson and wife, Gail, Tony Hudson and wife, Pam; sister-in-law, Tammy Means and husband, Joey; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
