A Bogue Chitto man died in a one-vehicle crash Sunday, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

James E. Hutson, 91, of Bogue Chitto Road, was pronounced dead at the scene, said Cpl. Brandon Fortenberry with MHP.

The crash occurred shortly before 1 p.m. north of exit 30 near Bogue Chitto.

Hutson was traveling south on I-55 in the right lane in a 2004 Ford F250 when his left tire tread came off making the truck travel into the left lane, Fortenberry said. Hutson overcorrected and drove back into the right lane and off the right side of the interstate. His truck overturned several times, coming to rest upside down, Fortenberry said.

It is unknown if Hutson was wearing a seatbelt, he said.
