JACKSON (AP) — Two people accused of shooting an 8-year-old boy in the head have been denied bond.
WLBT-TV reports 35-year-old Lakia Bradley and 26-year-old Kendrick Jackson each was arrested on three counts of aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied vehicle. Each faces three additional counts of aggravated assault because three other children were in the car during the shooting.
The shooting happened about 11 p.m. Saturday when Jackson allegedly fired into Deneka Frazier’s car, hitting her child, Richard Kyles, in the back of the head as he slept on a back seat. Jackson is Frazier’s ex-boyfriend and police say he had been threatening her recently. The boy remains in critical condition at a Jackson area hospital.
