Kendall and Jennifer Covington of Brookhaven announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their son Steven Lee Covington, of Ocean Springs, to Sally Jo Anna Herndon of Gulfport.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Joe and Beth Herndon of Gulfport, and the granddaughter of Jerry Benton of Troy, Alabama; Friend and Sarah Walker of Taylorsville; and Ray and Kate Herndon of Taylorsville.

Miss Herndon is a graduate of Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Mississippi State University. She is currently employed as a registered nurse with Singing River Health Systems, working in the intensive care unit.

The prospective groom is the grandson of William and Veta Covington of Union Church, and Charles and Betty Gatlin of Bogue Chitto.

Mr. Covington is a graduate of Brookhaven Academy, Copiah-Lincoln Community College and Mississippi State University. He is currently employed as an assistant principal with the Hancock County School District.

The couple will exchange vows Saturday, May 27, 2017, at 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Biloxi. A reception will follow at The Slavonian Lodge.
