Holloway hunts for history

Dexter Holloway has roots and wings in Alexander High School.
His parents, Johnette Holloway and the late Carl Holloway, not only taught school there, they graduated from there as well. And while Holloway, 54, of Brookhaven, attended the school building for his education, it was no longer the high school at the time.
Still, he sees the importance of the school and is part of the AHS Legacy committee and is one of the main organizers of the Legacy Hall of Honor presented at the biennual reunion.
Holloway and members of the Legacy Committee are on the hunt for AHS memorabilia — documents, photographs, yearbooks, letters, class jackets, etc.
Documents and photographs can be scanned and returned. Some individuals have donated items of historical significance to the committee, he said. For more information contact him at holloway4@cableone.net.
Holloway is assistant executive director of the Workforce and Economic Development Council for the Mississippi Community College Board. He is married to Nikki, a teacher at Alexander Junior High. They have two sons — Dorian, a sophomore at Alcorn State University, and Miles, a sophomore at Brookhaven High School.
The Holloways attend Bethel A.M.E. Church.
