West Lincoln’s junior high basketball teams traveled to Loyd Star on Monday for four games. Loyd Star’s girls and West Lincoln’s boys would be victorious on the night.

In the seventh grade girls game, the Lady Hornets cruised to a 28-12 win. Aubrey Britt netted 18 points for Loyd Star, while Bailee Goodson provided four points for the Lady Bears.

In the seventh grade boys game, West Lincoln rolled to a 52-15 win. Briar Hamilton was the high man for the Bears with 21 points, while Enrico Price added 12 points. Nathan Calcote led the Hornets with 11 points.

Loyd Star’s junior high girls hung on for a 23-17 win over West Lincoln. Marleigh Bullock totaled 10 points for the Lady Hornets, while Brittany Sturkey led the Lady Bears with 12 points.

West Lincoln’s junior high boys came away with a 31-24 win over the Hornets. Trevon Jones led the Bears with 10 points. Loyd Star was led by Luis Benaridez’s nine-point effort.

The 2016 Lincoln County Junior High Tournament begins Nov.  28 at West Lincoln.
