The Ole Towne Church doors will soon open for area foodies to tempt their taste buds with delicious local dishes at the annual Taste of the Trust.
“It is always a lot of fun for a good cause,” Trust President Mary White said.
The purchase of a $40 ticket gives individuals the opportunity to try foods from 15 vendors, bid on a variety of items in the silent auction and enjoy the musical stylings of the Bridge Jazz Band.
“I’m very excited,” White said. “Everyone on the committee has worked very hard over the past few months and I’m ready to see it all come together.”
The fundraising event presented by the Brookhaven Trust will be Thursday from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door.
The restaurants featured include:
• Betty’s Eat Shop
• Bob’s Sandwich Shop
• Broma’s
• Poppa’s Fish House
• Mitchell’s Catering
• Brookhaven Little Theatre
• Georgia Blue
• Pasta Junction
• Southwest Distributors
• Los Parilleros
• Tastefully Simple
• Pampered Chef
•Copiah-Lincoln Community College Culinary Arts
• The Crawfish Shack
• That’s So Sweet
Each restaurant will compete for the People’s Choice Award, which is voted on by the attendees throughout the night. The winner will be announced at the end of the night.
Proceeds raised during the Taste of the Trust will benefit the Brookhaven Little Theatre.
White said she hasn’t lived in Brookhaven long, but she said her time in the city has shown her what a valuable resource it is. “I am excited the Trust has chosen to help them this year,” she said.
