Funeral services for Albert Sutton, of Bogue Chitto, are 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Riverwood.

Mr. Sutton, 92, died Aug. 19, 2016, at Countrybrook Living Center. He was born on Dec. 10, 1923, to Prentiss Clifton Sutton and Lela Smith Sutton.

Family and friends knew him by his nickname “Peanut.”

Mr. Sutton retired from the sheet metal business and was a World War II veteran of the United States Army. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He was a loving and devoted husband and father who loved his children and grandchildren dearly. Throughout his entire life, he enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Gordon Sutton; grandson Richard Sutton; brothers, Ralph Sutton, Deva Sutton, Bob Sutton, Rudy Sutton and Elmont Sutton; and sisters, Mona Knee and Marie Lindsey.

Survivors are his wife, Betty Smith Sutton; daughter, Deborah Sutton Smith and husband Claude Smith; four grandchildren, Christie Smith Case and husband Keith, Kim Smith Coley and husband Shane, Nisa Sutton and Shawn Sutton; six great-grandchildren, Blake Wilson and wife Lauren, Avery Fischer, Madisyn King, Karci Case, Atleigh Anding and Brooklynn Coley; two great-great-grandchildren, Brice Wilson and Lizzie Grace Wilson; a special niece, Kathy Sutton Diaz; and special friend Harold Lewis.
