A Lincoln County jury returned a verdict of not guilty Thursday in the touching and handling case against Charles R. Davis.
Emotions were high after a two-day trial, and one woman was required to leave the courtroom during the prosecution’s closing argument.
The defense argued in their closing statement that the state could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Davis’ touching of a 10-year-old girl on his bus route for West Lincoln Attendance Center last year was done for lustful purpose.
