The trial a Lincoln County bus driver accused of touching a child under 16, “for the purpose of gratifying his lust or indulging his depraved licentious sexual desires” will start today at 1 p.m.
Charles Davis, who drove a route for West Lincoln Attendance Center, was arrested Sept. 25. Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing said the victim’s parents reported an alleged incident on Sept. 18. Per a recommendation from the District Attorney’s Office, charges were filed and a warrant was issued.
On May 25, Davis’ attorneys filed a motion to suppress statements made at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. The defense said in the motion that Davis was not advised that he was a suspect of a crime, was not advised of his right to remain silent and was not advised of his right to counsel.
