Jason Guthrie joins Co-Lin coaching staff

WESSON – With 20 years of coaching experience, Jason Guthrie brings an abundance of knowledge to the Copiah-Lincoln Community College football coaching staff. Guthrie will be coaching the running backs.
Prior to joining the Co-Lin staff, Guthrie coached championship quality teams at both the high school and university level. As the offensive coordinator, he helped lead Brentwood High (Brentwood, TN) to a 5-A state title in 2002. After just three years at the high school level, he became the assistant and offensive coordinator at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. During his 10-year tenure at Trinity, he helped lead the Tigers to five SCAC Conference Championships.
Guthrie has spent the previous three years at Millsaps College in Jackson and helped the Majors claim the SAA Conference Championship in 2013 as the offensive coordinator. He not only provides offensive expertise, but recruiting experience and connections to help bolster Co-Lin’s presence in the Southeast.
A graduate of Kentucky Wesleyan College, Guthrie played wide receiver and tight end for is from 1992-1996. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in history/education and a minor in psychology, and has a Master’s degree in Education, School Administration from Trinity University.
Guthrie and his wife, Sarah, are looking forward to moving to the area.
