Funeral services for Marjorie M. Baker of Brookhaven are Thursday, April 14, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park. Visitation is Wednesday, April 13, 2016, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Baker, 88, died Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was born Feb. 3, 1928, in McComb to Smith Felder Brumfield and Rosa Roberts Brumfield.
Mrs. Baker was the co-founder of Baker’s Pharmacy, with her husband Edwin, which was founded in 1958. Mrs. Baker also served as vice president and secretary of Baker’s Pharmacy. She was also a member of Easthaven Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Edwin “Ed” Baker; son, Larry Baker; parents, Smith and Rosa Brumfield; brother, Clinton Brumfield; and a twin sister, Marian Brumfield.
Survivors are her son, Lamar “Butch” Baker and wife, Louise; grandchild, Erin Baker; brothers and sisters-in-law, King Baker and wife, Martha, Dal Baker and wife, Polly, Delbert Barnett and Alice Soileau and husband, Joe; uncle, Hyland Brumfield; special family friend, Joyce Woods; and a host of nieces and nephews.
