Graveside services for William Bowman are Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation is Wednesday, March 2, 2016, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Riverwood in Brookhaven.
Mr. Bowman, 80, died Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born April 23, 1935, to Herman Bowman and Winnie Davis Bowman.
He was a carpenter, served in the United States Army and was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents; son, Bradley Bowman; brothers, Buddy Bowman and Robert Bowman; and sisters, Margaret Turpin, Augustine Adams and Olga Waldrop.
Survivors are his wife, Linda Tarver Bowman; son, Barry Bowman and wife, Sheila; daughter, Beverly Bowman Johnston and husband, Arthur; sisters, Faye Smith, Adley Steward and husband, George; mother-in-law, Louella Tarver; sister-in-laws, Betty Edwards and Martha Cloer; brothers-in-laws, Butch Tarver and wife, Sharon and Gary Tarver; grandchildren, Amanda Havard and husband, Turner, Courtney Bowman, Kelcey Bowman, Abby Johnston, Anna Johnston, Avery Johnston, Justin McCardle and wife, Angie, Cody Freeman, Brookes Prestridge and husband, Corey and Zane Crosby; great-grandchildren, Aubreigh, Asher, Aston, Adler, Molli, Tynleigh, Lily, Knox, Slade and Grayson; and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Memorials can be made to the Clear Branch Baptist Church Building fund or the charity of choice.
