Tom J. ‘Colonel’ Loveless

Funeral services for Mr. Tom J. “Colonel” Loveless of Brookhaven are Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Riverwood Memorial Park.
Visitation is Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Riverwood.
Mr. Loveless, 96, died, Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at Country Brook Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 1, 1919, in McNeil to the late Frank and Molly Loveless.
He was married to the love of his life for 53 years, the late Magdalene Lumpkin
Loveless. He was of the Pentecostal faith.
The “Colonel” was a graduate of Mississippi State and was the vocational agriculture teacher at Loyd Star School for 16 years before retiring. He was a WWII veteran in the Air Force Division from 1941-1945. He served as Justice Court Judge District 5 and was the owner of Loveless Auto Sales. Earlier in life, he managed Cyber Farms for L.O. Crosby in Picayune.
He loved his Lord, and his family, always happy, and loved people. He gained the title “Colonel” from the many students he taught and loved.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; three brothers, Tony, David and Claude Loveless; five sisters, Maude Loveless, Audry Perrette, Eva Martinas, Velma Perrette and Hilda Perrette.
Survivors are his children, Wayne Loveless (Virginia) of Picayune, Garland Loveless (Marie) of Byhalia, Glenn Loveless (Tonya) of Pearl, Connie McAlister (Rick) of McComb, Tamela Golmon (Dwayne) of Brookhaven; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Wilda Lumpkin, of Picayune.
