Funeral services for Willie Faye Harris, of Harrisville are Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Harrisville Baptist Church with burial at 2:30 p.m. on Friday in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. 

Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Harrisville Baptist Church. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Harris, 79, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at her residence.

Mrs. Harris retired as supervisor in the accounting department of Bell South Telephone Company. She was active in the community as part of the Harrisville Lions Club and an active member of Harrisville Baptist Church.   She was a devoted wife of over 60 years, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Hezekiah and Verdie Posey of Brookhaven.

Survivors are her husband, James C. Harris; sons, Wayne Harris (Sue), Glenn Harris (Julie) and Bruce Harris, all of Harrisville; grandchildren, Brad Harris (Melanie) of Georgetown, Josh Harris (Lauren) of Anniston, Alabama, Kacie Furlow (Matt) of Brookhaven, Stephanie Bowen (Jason) of Harrisville, Taylor Harris of Harrisville; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara McGee (Ealon) of Brookhaven and Norine Fielder of Harrisville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express special thanks to all of Mr. Brown’s caregivers, especially Dell Jordan, Pat Newman and Sta­Home Health Care staff for all the love shown to Mr. and Mrs. Brown in their final years at home. The family would also like to extend thanks to the staff of Silver Cross Nursing Home.
