Several gunshots reported over holiday

Several calls in reference to gunshots were reported over the New Year’s holiday weekend.
There were two reports of a discharging firearm at approximately 3 and 4:30 a.m. Friday morning. The first was reported on Independence Street, and the second did not list a location. Neither of the calls ended in a report being written.
There was a report of discharging firearm on Martin Luther King Drive Friday around 1:30 p.m., but the call was deemed unfounded by Brookhaven Police Department. Two other unfounded reports are listed on the call log.
At 4:27 p.m. on Friday a shooting was reported on Avalon Street. A report was written, but police have not responded to requests for information.
At 8:07 p.m. Saturday, a report was written in response to discharging firearm in the Old Brook Road area.
