Funeral services for Laura Jane King are Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at 10 a.m. at East Lincoln Baptist Church in Brookhaven with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Ronnie Douglas, Bro. Craig King and Bro. Matt King will be officiating the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, from 5 until 9 p.m. at East Lincoln Baptist Church and will continue Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
Mrs. King, 93, of Brookhaven, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at Country Brook Living Center. She was born June 11, 1922, in Lawrence County to Ben and Lucy Lambert.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, Lonnie J. King Sr.; son-in-law, Joe Fuller; grandson, Glen Fuller; granddaughter, Melinda Carol King; four sisters; and one brother.
Survivors are her daughters, Margie Olline Jones and her husband, Joe and Claudene Fuller; sons, Robert Lee King and Louise, Eugene King and Lanell, Daryl King and Tony King, all of Brookhaven, Lonnie King Jr. of LaGrange, Georgia, Larry King and Jennifer of Wesson and Raymond King and Karen of Meridian; sisters, Bennie Lee Kirkland of Lawrence County and Elma Ruth Blankenship of Lumberton; brother, Nate Lambert and Francis of Lawrence County; 26 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
