BA Cougars invade Gallman

Brookhaven Academy (0-9, 0-4), under the direction of second-year coach Blake Purvis, battled the Simpson Academy Cougars Friday at R.M. “Red” Stuard Field and lost 51-0.
This week, the Cougars are looking to end their season on a winning note as they prepare to invade Gallman to take on their local rivals, the Copiah Academy Colonels.
The Colonels (5-3, 2-2), coached by Paul Anderson, took on the Parklane Academy Pioneers last Friday and fell 43-28 in McComb.
BA’s top offensive performer last week against Simpson Academy was junior quarterback Madison Smith with 109 yards of total offense. Smith finished with 10-of-25 passing for 93 yards and rushed for 16 yards on six carries.
Fisher Warren was the top receiver with nine receptions for 77 yards.
Defensively, Connor Griffin and Carter Culbertson led BA with 5.5 tackles each. Fisher Warren finished with five tackles and had one tackle for a loss. Roger Rushing provided four tackles. J.T Cline and Grant James combined for seven tackles.
Last year, Copiah defeated Brookhaven Academy 21-15 in Lincoln County.
My prediction: The Colonels prevail 28-24.
