Grand jury to hear murder case: Thomas accused of shooting Glen Mack

The Brookhaven man charged with the late July murder of Glen Mack was bound over to a grand jury after the judge decided there was probability that he committed murder in his preliminary hearing Tuesday.
Pierre Thomas, of 829 Funches St., 5-27-92, was arrested for the murder of Glen Mack on July 24 following the fatal shooting, which occurred the night before. Thomas was also charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of cocaine with intent to deliver.
Thomas has a bail amount of $1 million, and is represented by court appointed attorney Jason Barrett. His original preliminary hearing was set for Aug. 18 but was moved to Tuesday. Judge Bradley Boerner presided. Thomas remains in jail.
According to police reports, a call of a shooting came in at 11:42 p.m. that Thursday night. Police Chief Bobby Bell said the shooting occurred in the Cloverdale area; it was the second fatal shooting in the Cloverdale area that month. Lincoln County Coroner Clay McMorris said the victim was pronounced dead at University Medical Center at 5 a.m. the following morning.
Bell said when responders arrived on the scene, they found the victim shot in the upper leg. Bell said the bullet entered the upper leg, went through and exited through the other leg. He was transported to King’s Daughters Medical Center and then airlifted to Jackson.
