Lady Bears take two from Franklin County

The West Lincoln Lady Bears defeated the Franklin County Lady Bulldogs twice in Saturday slowpitch softball action at West Lincoln.
The Lady Bears blanked the Lady Bulldogs 15-0 in the openers and won 10-0 in the second game.
West Lincoln (2-0) resumes action Tuesday as they host the Crystal Springs Lady Tigers. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6 p.m.

The Lady Bears came out and dominated the Lady Bulldogs in the opener to win 15-0 in a three-inning contest.
Makennah Redd was the winning pitcher for West Lincoln with two strikeouts and no walks.
Sydney Scott absorbed the setback on the mound for Franklin County.
Millane Lewis, Makennah Redd and Alli Mullins powered the Lady Bears at the plate with a double and a single apiece. Jana Case and Megan Gerald contributed a double each. Hitting safely were Anna Brook Davis, Peyton White and Sara Jane Doty.

The Lady Bears captured their second win of the season with a 10-0 victory in a five-inning contest.
Redd collected her second win of season for the Lady Bears with two strikeouts and no walks.
Scott (0K, 2BB) suffered the setback for the Lady Bulldogs.
Layton Sills directed the Lady Bears offense with four singles. Hanna Moak contributed a triple and a single. Millane Lewis and Jana Case provided two singles apiece. Gerald and Redd ripped a double each. Hitting safely were McKenzie Pyles, Mullins, Davis and Doty.
Emilee Walker was the top hitter at the plate for Franklin County with two singles. Shelly Case and Kellie Hunt had a single each.
