David Fern, building inspector for the city of Brookhaven, said an International House of Pancakes is locating there.

Fern said Encore Construction, a company from D’Iberville that has built and is building IHOP franchises throughout the state, is handling the construction for the new IHOP. He said Encore is also currently working on another IHOP project in Pascagoula.

He said the construction should take three to six months. Footings for the city’s new restaurant were poured last week and slabs are being poured this week.

IHOP  officials could not be reached for comment.
