Funeral services for Ellen Lucinda McWilliams are Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home with burial in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello. Rev. Tim McCaffery and Jon Daniels will be officiating the services. Pallbearers are Terry Barr, Tommy Barr, Jack Jones, Jimmy Ward, Wayne McWilliams, Tate Becker, Myles Becker and Ethan McWilliams. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Visitation was Monday, June 22, 2015 from 5 until 8 p.m. and will continue Tuesday, June 23, 2015, from 1 p.m. until the time of service at Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. McWilliams, 97, died Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello. She was born May 8, 1918, to Mr. Kenzie Jackson Letchworth and Mrs. Genette Georgianna Reid Letchworth.

Mrs. McWilliams loved to cook and garden. She loved growing things and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved all children, especially babies. She was a very loving lady that will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence Poe McWilliams Sr.; daughter, Mildred Smith; grandchildren, Theresa Mullins and Joey Ward; great-granddaughter, Christy Lawrence; brothers, Buel Letchworth, Martin Letchworth, Authar Letchworth, Johnny Letchworth and Wilmer Letchworth; sisters, Dezzie Nations, Lois Mason and Florence Jones.

Survivors are her daughters, Dorothy Barr of Dothan, Alabama, Betty Jones of Brookhaven, Martha Ward of Oakvale and Deborah Maschke of Brookhaven; son, Clarence Poe McWilliams Jr. of Sontag; sister, Donice Beasley of Monticello; brother, Kenzie Letchworth of South Carolina; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends.
