Bogue Chitto wins Game One in the battle of Bobcats

BOGUE CHITTO – The number two seed Bogue Chitto Bobcats hosted the number three seed Sebastopol Bobcats Thursday night for the first game of the best two out of three series for the first round of the playoffs.
Bogue Chitto ended up beating Sebastopol 7-3 in game one in the battle between Bobcats.
BC will travel to Sebastopol Friday night for the second game of the series, starting at 6 p.m.

BC started senior pitcher Steven Ginn on the mound to deliver the hopeful victory. Sebastopol had Hunter Clay on the mound to deliver the hopeful victory for them as well.
Both pitchers provided a strong pitching performance on the mound for their teams. Steven Ginn had seven strikeouts with no walks for the evening. Hunter Clay for Sebastopol had five strikeouts with three walks.
As a team Bogue Chitto committed three errors and Sebastopol had six errors during the game.
In the first inning, BC plated three runs to grab a early 3-0 lead as Cameron Price got on base by drawing a walk. Nick Parker would hit single into left field to score Cameron Price. Brooks Ingle hit a RBI double to score Steven Ginn.
In the second inning, Sebastopol would finally get on the board when the catcher would get a line drive out into center for a double to score Hunter Author.
In the fourth inning, Bogue Chitto scored another run to extend their lead to 4-1 late in the game.
In the fifth inning, they added a run to their score, so they could keep up with the home team. Bogue Chitto had a big fifth inning to draw them closer to victory over Sebastopol. Steven Ginn started it off by reach the base by a Sebastopol error and advanced to second on a throwing error. Tucker Lambert hit a fly ball to center field to reach first base. Brooks Ingle hit a fly ball to left field to get on base to score Steven Ginn. Tucker Lambert advanced to third base. Rudy Brumfield had a RBI double to score Tucker Lambert.
In the sixth inning, Sebastopol added another run to their score but could not overcome BC’s lead.
Nick Parker powered BC’s offense at the plate with two doubles and a single. Brooks Ingle contributed two doubles. Steven Ginn provided a double and a single. Rudy Brumfield ripped a double. Cameron Price and Tucker Lambert hit safely.
