Wolves split with Holmes in Goodman

GOODMAN – The Copiah-Lincoln Wolves split a division doubleheader in on Monday. The Bulldogs limited Co-Lin to four hits in a 7-0 Holmes victory in game one. In game two the Wolves bounced back behind another gutsy pitching performance from Shane Brown. The sophomore gave up two earned runs on seven hits in seven innings of action to lead Co-Lin to an 8-2 win.
Holmes 7, Co-Lin 0
Co-Lin only managed four hit and Reed Taylor was responsible for two of those. The freshman from Summit hit a single and a double. Austin Irby and Jeremy Moore also safely singled for Co-Lin.
Holmes scored two runs in the fourth inning, two in the sixth, two in the seventh, and one run in the eighth inning. Co-Lin committed three errors.
Kris Brown picked up the complete game win for Holmes. Brown struck out four, walked one, and gave up four hits in nine innings. Coled Langdon suffered the loss for Co-Lin after allowing six runs in 6.1 innings. Langdon walked two and struck out one.

Co-Lin broke open a 4-2 game with four runs in the seventh inning. The Wolves scored on a sacrifice fly by Reed Taylor, an RBI double by Choc Hubbard, an RBI single by Wesley Watts, and a walk by Austin Irby. Watts, Jeremy Moore, and Austin Resser had two hits apiece for Co-Lin. Co-Lin out-hit Holmes 11-7. The teams combined for seven errors.
Co-Lin hosts Gulf Coast on Wednesday in Wesson for 4 p.m. doubleheader.
