Bobby Dean Hatcher

Funeral Services for Mr. Bobby Dean Hatcher of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2015 at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial Saturday at Pine Grove Family Cemetery in Tippah County at 1 p.m.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 16 at Riverwood.

Mr. Hatcher, 78, died April 14, 2015 in Jackson. He was born in Tippah

County on Dec. 3, 1936 to Earl Hatcher and Vera Holiday Hatcher.

At the age of 12, Bobby moved to Union Church, where he later graduated from Fayette High School. He served in the Army National Guard and was employed with Southwest Mississippi Power Association until retirement, which led to the founding of Sportsman’s Paradise.

Bobby was an avid coyote/fox trapper and participated regularly in regional field trials, including ones hosted at Sportsman’s Paradise. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his passion to breed and train walker hounds including the 1973 USO-FCH winner Delta Guy Rowden and the legendary Streaker Guinea. Bobby was also known for his love of sports, which was shown through his many years of coaching little league baseball teams. He was a gifted carpenter and an overall master of all trades.

Bobby had an infectious smile that generated laughter and brought many years of love and happiness to his family and loved ones.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Jean Hatcher Barksdale; and brother, Stacy Hatcher.

He is survived by his wife, Andrea Hudson Hatcher; son, Darryl Hatcher; daughters, Tawanda Hatcher Smith  and husband, Glyn, Ashley Hatcher Hickman and husband, Corey, Makesha Hatcher Golmon and husband, Brian, April Barnes Allen and husband, Cornelius; brothers Jimmy Hatcher and wife, Betty, Freddy Hatcher and wife, Nancy, Lewis Hatcher and wife, Becky; sister, Louise Hatcher Stewart; eight grandchildren, Lauren Smith Case, Ty Hatcher Smith, Hunter Hatcher, Cornelius Allen Jr., Nicolas Golmon, Laila Allen, Preston Dean Hickman and Peyton John Hickman; and one great-granddaughter, Lillie Houston Case.
