Funeral Services for Angela Darlene Coon Calcote of Jayess are 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, at Tilton United Methodist Church with burial in Tilton Cemetery. Wilson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Rev. Kevin Trantham and Rev. Joey Faulk will officiate, and Patsy Sandifer will be speaking. Pallbearers are Danny Williamson, Kenny Graves, David Coon, Wally Givens, Harold Griffith, Timmy Coon and Christopher Coon.

Visitation was Tuesday, March 17, 2015, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Calcote, 54, died March 17, 2015, at her residence. She was born on March 8, 1961 in Tylertown.

Mrs. Calcote was a very outgoing person and achieved many things in her 54 years. She attended Southwest Mississippi Junior College, Southern University of Mississippi and received her master’s from Louisiana State University. She worked in the Lawrence County public school since August 1990 through January 2015. She held many different job titles from elementary school teacher to, principal of Topeka Tilton Attendance Center, Federal Progams Director at the administrative office and in 2012 she became director of the Lawrence County Technology and Career Center. She was an active member of Tilton United Methodist Church as long as her health would allow her to be. She was a board member and former chairman of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce and was the Atwood Music Festival chairman, the chairman of the Monticello Christmas Parade and served on the Civic Center Winter Gala committee. Even though she was involved in so many things, she still had time for her family and friends and will be missed by all.

Preceding her in death was her father, Everett Coon.

Survivors are her husband, Barney Calcote Jr.; son, Cody and wife, Cori Calcote; daughter, Hannah Calcote; mother, Beverly Russell; two grandchildren, Tyne and Truss Calcote; all of Jayess and a brother, Todd Coon of Monticello.
