Funeral Services for David Earl Mulford of Greeley, Colorado are 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, at Adamson Chapel with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 6 at Adamson Chapel.
Mr. Mulford, 72, died March 1, 2015. He was born on July 9, 1942 in Mobile, Alabama to Dennis and Vera (Moore) Mulford. The Mulford family soon moved to Brookhaven where David was raised.
David graduated from Brookhaven High School in 1960. He served in the National Guard of Mississippi from 1962 to 1968. David often told stories of his time in the Service, specifically during the de-segregation of Ole Miss and the Cuban Missile Crisis. He wed Janet Lynn Lust on Oct. 20, 1967 in Memphis, Tennessee. David graduated from Memphis State University in 1978 with a degree in accounting. He was an accountant his entire life until he retired in 2014 due to medical reasons. He and Janet moved to Greeley in 1981 with their two children, and it was their home until the end of their respective lives.
David loved watching TV, especially NCIS and football. He also enjoyed time spent with his family in Rocky Mountain National Park. He loved to tell jokes to anyone who would listen; he was quite the storyteller. He especially loved to tell jokes that only other accountants would understand. He often reminded others that, “the debit is on the side next to the window.”
Preceding him in death were his parents, and his beloved wife, Janet.
Survivors are his son, Jeff Mulford of Thornton, Colorado; his daughter, Julia (Mark) Alrick of Grand Junction, Colorado; brother, Keith Mulford of Smithdale; and a yet to be born grandchild this May.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northern Colorado in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services.
