Hunter Foster, a 2013 graduate of Loyd Star Attendance Center and a student at Mississippi College, announced earlier last year he is running for the Chair of Mississippi Federation of College Republicans.

Foster is currently majoring in political science and pre-law with a minor in German at MC and is the current chairman of MC College Republicans as well as the district vice-chairman.

He recently hosted a meet-and-greet with Congressional officials of District 2 in order to network with older party members and form lasting professional relationships with college youths.

Foster said of his efforts to increase participation with College Republicans, “I thought it would be a good idea to introduce the club to officials if they need help campaigning.”

For MCCR, Foster oversees all functions, determines a yearly budget, hosts recruiting drives and helps elected officials and potential Republican candidates with fundraising and campaign work.

Foster held a carwash at First Bank in Brookhaven last September to raise money for MCCR as well as worked on Thad Cochran’s reelection campaign and Jackson city councilman-elect of Ward 1.
