Funeral Services for Homer Hodges of Bogue Chitto are 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, at Harrigill Funeral Home with burial in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Harrigill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, from 9 a.m. until time of service at Harrigill Funeral Home.

Mr. Hodges, 81, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at his residence. He was born on June 28, 1933, in Lincoln County to Emanuel Hodges and Francis Terrell Hodges.

Mr. Hodges was a retired mechanic, having worked for Mapp Oilfield Services. After his retirement, he enjoyed gardening and other outdoor hobbies and activities. Mr. Hodges was known for being a hard working man who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife and mother of his children, Katherine Lawrence Hodges; his brothers, Brady Hodges, Ray Hodges, Ralph Hodges, Versie Hodges and James Hodges; and one great-grandson, Drake Smith Jr.

Survivors are his wife, Gladys Stewart Richardson Hodges of Bogue Chitto; his sons, Richard Hodges and wife, Nadine, Robert Hodges and wife, Laura, and Randall Hodges, and wife, Wanda, all of Bogue Chitto; his step-son, Ronnie Richardson of Bogue Chitto; and step-daughters, Karen Richardson and husband, Dr. Joseph Kwentus of Madison, Betty Richardson and husband, Bill Nolan and Brenda Richardson Hall and husband, Johnny Ray Hall, of Bogue Chitto; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
