King’s Daughters Medical Center has received the 2015 Women’s Choice Award as an America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics. This evidence-based designation is the only award that identifies the country’s best healthcare institutions based on robust criteria that consider female patient satisfaction, clinical excellence and what women say they want from a hospital.
The list of over 350 award winners represents hospitals, including King’s Daughters Medical Center, that women can feel confident in choosing for their maternity needs.
“We are honored that women recognize our commitment to excellence in obstetrics. Being named Best Hospitals for Patient Satisfaction in Obstetrics for the third consecutive year reinforces our commitment to our expecting mothers. Over the years, tens of thousands of moms have chosen to have their babies at King’s Daughters Medical Center. We hope that you will allow us to share that special moment of the birth of your child,” Alvin Hoover, CEO, King’s Daughters Medical Center said.
“New moms have many choices when it comes to obstetrics. Now they can make informed decisions based on the recommendations of other moms who have experienced that hospital first hand,” says Delia Passi, CEO and Founder of the Women’s Choice Award, and former publisher of Working Woman and Working Mother magazines. “Most importantly, when a woman sees the Women’s Choice Award at her local hospital, she’ll know the hospital values her experience as a critical component of care for her and her loved ones.”
The America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics scoring process is unique in that it is the only national list that focuses on female patient satisfaction. Only the hospitals who qualify for this highly selective designation provide the highest level of obstetric services based on their exceptional scores for patient recommendation, as provided by data reported by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems surveys, as well as an analysis that weighs criteria identified as the most important to women for patient satisfaction, including early elective deliveries.
“There’s nothing more wonderful than the birth of your child,” LDRP manager Angie Williamson said. “And, there’s no better place to experience those moments than in the first fully-dedicated, single-room labor and delivery suites in Mississippi at King’s Daughters Medical Center.”
Every phase of birth, from labor and delivery through recovery and postpartum, takes place in one suite, allowing moms and their families to be together without moving from room to room. The LDRP Suites at King’s Daughters includes:
• nine luxurious suites that feel more like bedrooms than hospital rooms;
• soothing colors and garden tubs in each suite that provide a relaxing environment;
• spacious suites with rocking chairs and cozy couches;
• the latest medical technology to ensure the highest level of care for both mother and baby;
• a self-contained surgical suite in case a C-section is required;
• a 24-hour nursery staffed by caring, experienced professionals who are devoted to giving your baby a happy, healthy start to life;
• A special place for our first special moments.
