WESSON – Copiah-Lincoln freshman kicker Greg Nickles has been named the MACJC Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts in the 41-21 Co-Lin victory over Hinds on Saturday.
Nickles, a graduate of East Rankin Academy, kicked off seven times in the Wolfpack homecoming win and saw three of those kicks go for touchbacks. He notched a 31-yard field goal in the first quarter and a 24-yard field goal in the third quarter. Nickles also finished 5-of-5 on point after attempts.
Nickles is 7-of-8 for the season on field goal attempts and 27-of-31 on PAT attempts. He is second on the team with 48 points scored through seven games.
Nickles will now be nominated for the national player of the week award that is selected by the NJCAA.
Previous MACJC player of the week honorees this season from Co-Lin are Demond Tucker (defensive) and Donald Gray (offensive/special teams).
