BSW wins one in opening debut

LIBERTY – The Brookhaven Southern Wildcats roared past the Amite County Ravens 26-0 in 9-&-10 action in TNT Football action last Saturday. The Wildcats lost 7-6 to the Ravens in 8-under action. In 12-under action, the Tylertown Rams shut out Brookhaven 6-0.
BSW resumes action tomorrow at King Field, starting at 10 a.m. with the 8-under team hosting the Ferriday Trojans. The second and third games start at 11 and 12:30.
BSW 26, ACR 0
Kenneth Dixon was the offensive leader with 60 yards rushing. He rushed in a 10-yard touchdown. Malachi Clark was the second leading rusher with 55-yards. Tyrone Jones contributed to the ground attack with 43-yards rushing and scored a 35-yard rushing touchdown. Kermit Sartin punched in a five yard touchdown..
Defensively, Sartin recovered a fumble and return it 30 yards for a touchdown. Dixon also recovered a fumble. Kobe Jacobs was the top tackler with three stops.
ACR 7, BSW 6
Rontell Williams scored the only touchdown for the Wildcats on a 70-yard sprint to paydirt.
Defensively, Daylane Bardon led the team with nine tackles and Martel Smith contributed five stops.
Tylertown 6, BSW
Jaqaveon Anderson led the Wildcats’ offense with 40 yards rushing.
Defensively, Dontrey Smith paced Brookhaven with five tackles. Sedricj Brothern provided three stops. Dominique contributed four tackles and one sack. Tyrell Johnson had three tackles and a fumble recovery.
