Josiah D. Franklin, 22, of 949 Smith Lake Road was arrested Tuesday by the Brookhaven Police Department on a charge of touching a child for lustful purposes.

BPD investigator Clint Earl said Franklin is charged in connection with an incident with an under-aged victim in the bathroom of a local church. Earl said no comments could be made as to the age of the victim or the name of the church for evidentiary purposes.

Touching a child for lustful purposes is a felony and if convicted, Franklin can face up to 15 years in prison with a fine of $1,000 to $5,000.
