BUDE – The Lincoln County Nationals and Lincoln County Americans traded the lead back-and-forth seven times in Saturday’s action at Bude. In the end the Nationals pulled out a 6-5 win on a fielder’s choice in six innings over the American.

In late Saturday action, the Nationals fall to Franklin County 15-6 in a thrilling rematch.

The Nationals will play the Americans Monday at 7:00 in Bude in an elimination game. The winner will move on to face Franklin County Tuesday for the District 6 North championship.

Nationals 6, Americans 5 

At the top of the second the Americans took an early lead, 1-0. The Americans’ rally started when Tanner Stokes hit a single. With the help of Caden Yarborough, Tanner moved to third.

The Nationals responded with one run in the second, scoring on an RBI single by Noah Gatlin.

In the third, the Americans’ Brody Taggert scored on an error.

It didn’t take long for the Nationals’ Caden White to respond with a RBI single to bring one home in the third.

The Nationals pushed across one run in the fourth when Colton Frith scored on an RBI double by, plating Jaden.

The Americans scored another run in the fifth inning that was answered with a RBI double by Ian and an RBI single by Caden.

The Nationals took the lead in the sixth inning when a passed ball allowed Robert Adcock to score.

Ian Gatlin was hot at the plate for the Nationals. He went 2-for-2 with a single in the third inning and doubled in the fifth.
