Clarkdale nips Loyd Star

The Loyd Star Hornets netters suffered a heart breaking defeat in the last match of the evening falling to the Clarkdale Bulldogs 4-3 in tennis action Thursday in the Class 2A South State Championship at the Brookhaven City Courts.
The Hornets and Bulldogs battled to a 3-all tie in the first six matches and all eyes were on the No. 1 Boys Doubles contest to see who will advance to the state championship.
Loyd Star will compete in the State Individual tournament on Thursday, May 1 and Friday, May 2. Participating in the tournament will be Connor Crosby in boys’ singles, Caylee Grace Yarborough and Faith Bergeron in girls’ doubles and Ashlyn Locke in girls’ singles.
