Harry Glen Whittington

A private family celebration is planned for Harry Glen Whittington, better known as “Pop Pop” by his grandchildren, of Wesson. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of cremation.
Mr. Whittington, 54, died April 9, 2014, at his residence after an eight-month battle with lung cancer. He was born on Oct. 13, 1959, in Natchez.
He graduated from Crystal Springs High School in 1977, immediately enlisting in the Air Force. After 20 years of service, he retired, having served in Desert Storm and in areas such as Germany, Italy, Korea, Japan, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Edwards, Calif.
Survivors are his wife, Kim Walker Whittington of Wesson; children, Amber Whittington and Chelsea Whittington of Phoenix, Ariz., Melissa Brady “Ben” of Wesson, and Jessica Breazeale (Ricky) of Gulfport; grandchildren, Bella Whittington of Phoenix, Mary Murphy Brady of Wesson and Walker Jake Breazeale of Gulfport; and sister, Wanda Pennington (Bruce) of Flowood.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the League of Extraordinary Women of Wesson (LEWW), a service organization for locals in need. Contact 601-695-7744.
