PERKINSTON – The Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs slipped by the Co-Lin Wolfpack 5-4 and the No. 21 ranked Lady Bulldogs defeated the Lady Wolves 8-1 in recent tennis action.

Five out of the nine men’s matches were decided by tiebreakers. In singles action, the Wolfpack won three matches. Dwain Perkins defeated Matt Barlow 6-4, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Graham Watson defeated DAngelo Vaxter 6-3, 5-7 (10-5) at No. 3 singles. Co-Lin’s Coleman Carraway defeated Tyler Youngblood 6-3, 2-6 (10-8).

Mississippi Gulf Coast took singles wins as Travous Wilson defeated Brock Smith 4-6, 6-2 (5-1) at #2, Bobby Vo defeated Brandon Nettles 6-2, 6-1 at #4, and Josh Johnson defeated Josh Smith 6-1, 5-7 (10-8).

Co-Lin’s only win in doubles action was at No. 1 as Dwain Perkins/Graham Waston defeated Josh Johnson/Travous Wilson 8-6. Gulf Coast won at No. 2 as DAngelo Vaxton/Matt Barlow defeated Co-Lin’s Brock Smith/Josh Smith 8-6, and Tyler Youngblood/Bobby Vo defeated Brandon Nettles/Coleman Carraway 8-9 (3-7).

In women’s action, the Lady Wolves only win came at No. 2 singles as Courtney Watts defeated Kit Chowdhary 6-4, 6-0.

Co-Lin will host Holmes on Friday, April 4, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
